Living Room Refresh

I've been mulling over a change for some time now -- probably in the neighborhood of two years. Bruce and I finally made some decisions and things are starting to come together.

Overall, I was tired of the palette. I wanted something fresher and lighter but I had to do something that could evolve since I couldn't afford to do everything at once.

The first order of business was a new sofa. There was a lot of strum und drang about it. In the end, we had the heirloom sofa that matches the loveseat shipped from Louisville and reupholstered. Agreeing on the fabric became another 6 month odyssey. We finally chose a silk and linen weave from Kravet. Since we spent a fortune on the sofa, we got super cost conscious and added some pillows from Crate and Barrel and Bed, Bath and Beyond and some lamps from Z Gallerie to pull it together.

Next up: new window treatments (I want to go with solar shades) and re-upholstering the loveseat in a French Blue velvet. I also have more pillows being made by Calico Corners.

Fun at Fort Funston

In the week leading up to Annick's departure, we took Pickles to Fort Funston every day. He must be wondering where we are and why he isn't at the beach today.

My babies

The Best Ever.

On the Berm

This evening I took Pickles on my favorite walk -- along the berm, between the ocean and the Sharp Park Golf Course. It was a lovely evening and we had a very nice surprise while we were out -- we saw a school of dolphins, a flock of pelicans and a school of sea lions all frolicking and competing for whatever fish were running close to shore at the time. It was an amazing site. Such a wonder. Here are a few pictures so you cna get a sense of the place -- unfortunately my shutter was not quick enough nor my lens long enough to capture all teh sea life activity.
